About The Book
In Hearts and Souls and Verse
Love Lives Forever: In Hearts and Souls and Verse is a collection of plain-spoken poetry about love, life, nature, memory, emotion, and the many experiences that stay with us.
JoAnne Scannell Davis brings together poems in many different forms, including sonnets, haikus, rhyming pieces, free verse, blank verse, and experimental work. The subjects move from birth and death to travel, reading, music, animals, gardening, nostalgia, the seasons, the universe, and eternity. Some poems are playful, some are reflective, and others carry grief, joy, fear, sympathy, or wonder. Watercolors, photography, and other artwork also appear throughout the book, while the appendix gives readers added insight into the feelings, observations, and moments that inspired many of the pieces.
